Andrew Fogarty (MD) comments, The team at Norton have many years experience within the Aluminium Recycling and Foundry sector. The company over the years has invested in processing equipment that allows the removal of all liquid and iron contamination within certain waste streams. The resulting clean product is then ready as feedstock for the foundry to recycle it from Aluminium Scrap back in to Secondary Aluminium Ingot for the casting sector.
Norton Aluminium purchase approx. 14,000 tonnes of aluminium scrap per annum for recycling. All product is converted back to Secondary Aluminium Ingot primarily for the automotive sector which consumes 80% of all secondary aluminium ingot produced.

Norton operates two 5000kg Rotary Furnaces and two 2000kg Induction Furnaces. Rotary furnaces are used for producing Secondary Alloys and induction furnaces are used for more specialist Aerospace, Motorsport and Marine grade alloys. All alloys are thoroughly tested during production using the companys three spectrograph machines to ensure the material is guaranteed within specification and can be fully certified prior to leaving the premises.
